Terms of Service

Last updated 4 June 2026

Short version: Thresho tells you when to open or close your windows, based on weather and air-quality forecasts that can be wrong. Use your own judgment, and don't rely on it for anything affecting your health or safety. Full terms below.

1. Acceptance

By installing or using Thresho ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

2. What Thresho does

Thresho uses weather and air-quality forecasts to suggest times to open or close your windows for passive cooling, and schedules local notifications at those times. It is an informational convenience tool, nothing more.

3. Forecasts can be wrong

Weather and air-quality data come from third parties, including Apple WeatherKit, the U.S. EPA AirNow program, and Open-Meteo as a fallback source. That data may be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, or unavailable, and the App's suggestions are predictions, not facts. Always check actual conditions and use your own judgment before acting.

4. Air quality and health

Air-quality readings are informational and may be preliminary or estimated. If you have respiratory or other health sensitivities, rely on official air-quality sources and your medical provider, not on the App. Do not use the App for any health, medical, safety, or emergency decision.

5. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for decisions about your home, windows, comfort, pets, and safety. The App is not a substitute for professional advice or official warnings.

6. License

You're granted a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (LAEULA).

7. Apple

This agreement is between you and the developer only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, is not responsible for any product warranties, and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App (including product-liability, legal or regulatory, and intellectual-property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

8. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of property, comfort, savings, or data, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Total liability for any claim will not exceed what you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $0 if the App was free to you.

10. Beta / pre-release

If you're using a TestFlight or other pre-release version, the App may be incomplete, contain errors, and change or stop working at any time. Feedback you send may be used to improve the App with no obligation to you.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
